School Reviews

2   9/26/2007
Some of the best teachers are still teaching, but many are gone now. The new teachers are not the same high level experienced professionals this school was notorious for. Our 6th grader's TAKS scores dropped 200 points, but she still had "A"s and "B"s for the year...very disappointing. The community committment to this school is amazing, compared to the horrible administration. The music programs are phenomenal, and with the new renovations the athletic programs should improve. But with the weak, untalented, anti social management of this school, the atmosphere is strange and strained.

Teachers in 19 States Allowed to Physically Punish Students
As of 2014, nineteen states still allow corporal punishment – spanking and paddling the most common choices – in their public schools. However, some argue that not only are these punishments physically harmful, they also are disproportionately administered to students of color. As a result, House democrats have taken up the issue in a new bill that would ban all forms of corporal punishment nationwide.
