School Reviews

5   6/23/2017
Colonial Heights High School provides an excellent amount of extracurricular activities, as well as a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Student-teacher relationships are pleasant, and there is no shortage of support. Student counselors work hard and are constantly pushing students forward. This school offers several honor societies (NAHS, NSHS, NMHS, NHS, N(Spanish)HS), AP Classes (Psychology, Calculus, English, Biology, Chemistry, Art History and others), as well as opportunities for online and dual enrollment classes. There are active field hockey, football, soccer, golf, basketball, and baseball teams, as well as a competition quizbowl team. There is also an amazing amount of vocational and tech classes. As a student, I would say this school is excellent.

As of 2014, nineteen states still allow corporal punishment – spanking and paddling the most common choices – in their public schools. However, some argue that not only are these punishments physically harmful, they also are disproportionately administered to students of color.
