Mead is an amazing school. The bar is raised higher for the academic performance and extracurricular performance of students.

The Spokane area's flagship suburban high school, Mead offers a wide range of programs and has terrific parent and community support. Our son has thrived here, getting into the honors program and sports in a big way, and making high-quality friends. We've found faculty smart and dedicated, and the Mead school district to be very well run. Ethnic and economic diversity is a little lacking, but not altogether (the largest minority group is Slavic). The area community is quite religious, which is a change from larger cities where we've lived, but most here value tolerance and the schools. A great school and great area.

Excellent academic programs (got silver placement in state [maybe country, i don't know] for students passing AP (college) exams) Has a wide range of music, art, sport and extracurricular activities, one of which that was not mentioned is fencing.
