In my years at Pine-Richland, I never really appreciated it. I was critical of the bubble we were surrounded by, and I let the few 'bad' teachers I had overshadow the numerous amazing teachers I was blessed with. I now attend college in a big city, and I am astounded at how much Pine-Richland prepared me for life outside of Wexford, Pennsylvania. I also never realized until coming to a big city just how lucky I was to attend Pine-Richland. Talking to other college students from all over the country, I have never met anyone who had a high school experience like mine. Since graduating, I've realized how much the teachers really care about students, and how friendly people were in P-R. At any other school, you find cliques and catty girls. At Pine-Richland, there are obviously groups, but everyone gets along. At any other school, people would not even know what weekend the spring musical was. At Pine-Richland, they sell out every single show. I have friends who returned from college for a weekend for the sole reason of attending the musical and supporting the art program that we were so blessed to have. The stadium is one of the nicest stadiums in the state, the faculty (obviously with a few exceptions) are extremely nice, and we have a first-class planetarium. Consider yourself lucky if you can get a student enrolled in this school. Even if they don't appreciate it in their 4 years at PRHS, I guarantee they will in the years ahead.

This is said to be a good school, but I do not necessarily agree with that. There are many teachers who are not very good at teaching. The students in my classes, along with me, are always complaining about how the teachers present information to us. Also, the amount of homework given in high school is unbelievable. I spend all night doing my homework. In previous years it only took me and hour or two. I came from a different school in Western PA a couple of years ago. Even though my former school may not be rated as well, being a student, I would pick my old school any day over Pine-Richland. I feel less welcomed here and I feel that I learned much more at my old school.
