School Reviews

I know that all Anchorage is all crazy about Rilke Schule, the only German school in Alaska. I am not and I will tell you why: I am German, we speak German at home. We moved to Alaska from a non english speaking country in 2018. My daughter did not speak English, yet. Going to an English speaking school scared her. She speaks fluent, native German though. We applied for Rilke Schule. They run their lottery and did not want to hear about the exception rules the lottery system includes. My daughter ended up in another school, doing Homework is awful for her, and her German of course deteriorated. Rille blocked all my attempts at finding a way out of this situation.Since August 2018, I have met several parents and ASD teachers who related discipline problems at Rilke Schule to me and who categorized the school climate influenced by parents with big, fancy cars. Nobody could understand why Rilke Schule would not just accept all native speakers.
